  1. Simple living means a few things:

    – don’t make life more complicated then it is

    – don’t buy any more goods then you need

    – Give away items you didn’t use for a whole season or year, that means you don’t need them.

    – when making a purchase decision think: NEED vs WANT

    – learn to live with less, that will be less stress in your life as well.

  2. Living a simplier life to me means prioritizing what really is important, not what we and others think is important. Being able to focus on the here and now and not worrying about the mile long TO DO list that may never get done. To focus on those most important in your life Spiritual,husband/wife, children, pets etc. Focus being with them in the here and now and not in between interruptions with FaceBook, Text Messages, Email messages etc. To possess exactly what we need, now everything we want.Just being able to BE.

Living a simpler life to me means always treating others as I would want to be treated, and having others do the same to me. Having time and energy to prepare home cooked meals, preferably using produce from my own garden. (To be self sufficient is my dream) To enjoy doing the simple, non electronic things with my kids, board games, team games, cards etc.
A simpler life would also include not keeping up with the Jones’s (or anyone else) but being happy with what we have.

  4. for me living a simplier life is having less stuff and really thinking if we need it. Say no sometimes so I can do what is important to me which is spend time with family.

  5. Oh, what a lovely thought… a simpler life. Today it seems like I am going, going, going all the time trying to juggle my work, my job, my children, my home. I’m always tired, I never get enough sleep…

A simpler life would mean space to breathe. Breathing room. It would mean being able to take time. That’s right, TAKE time — to be with my kids, my husband, my pasttimes… To feel that I’m productive and accomplishing all I want and need and dream but still being able to breathe.

I would love to have that.

I read your blog regularly (though I’ve never commented before) and I have learned quite a bit, but I think a concentrated program such as your e-course could do a lot for me.

    Best,

    ~Angela 🙂

  6. I have 3 rules that I live by that make my life simpler, and for that, so much better !

    1. Live and learn – I don’t beat myself up about my mistakes or what I don’t know or should know … I just live my life and learn from it

    2. Laugh – no need getting hung up on stress, bad situations or the time that seems to be slipping by unnoticed – stop and have a laugh (my answer to smelling the roses). And I am the first to admit that I’m not one to laugh on cue or have a big, hearty belly chuckle … even if it’s just a smile that spreads across my face and warms my body, well that’s me laughing, silently. There’s no point crying over it!

    3. Invest in quality – whether it’s a new pair of shoes, a friend, a life-long partner, a book to read in your down time or food, whatever it is, make it a quality investment and savour every minute of it.

  7. I love all the comments so far, keep them coming 🙂

  8. Simpler life to me means less stress due to less things. Not having stuff you don’t need, living life enjoyably without all the excess. Being able to enjoy family and friends and do for others. Using time for volunteering, helping others and just enjoying those you love.

To me, living a simpler life means a life of ease and clarity. It also means to have a very clear vision of my long term goals and then leading a life full of actions that lead me towards those goals.

  10. A simplier life? To me it was so many years ago, when all 6 of them were small and i eventhough wasn’t perfect was able to do and be the person I wanted to be but somehow still needed and wanted more and that was the beginning of the end…. Getting back to that and being able to enjoy the simple is a lot harder than it sounds when you have let things get so far out of hand that you don’t know where to start. It would mean the world to me and my family who wonder what happened to thier mom and wife. So if i am choose i intend to do everything in my power to follow it and give my family back the mother and wife they miss so much!

For me, living a simpler life means only having things that you truly need, love, or use. It’s also about constantly reevaluating my to do list and asking myself if each item really needs to be done now or if it really needs to be done at all. It’s amazing how many things I put on my list and then when I really analyze them given the amount of time I have, I realize some of the things really don’t matter and can be delayed or removed completely so I can focus on the things that really matter.

    Thanks for this contest!

For me living simply means giving away things that I don’t use or don’t like. I want to be surrounded by things I enjoy, that make me happy, and that make my life less complicated. It also means not being afraid to say no when others want me to do something that I really don’t want to do.

  13. Simplifying my life means being able to spend more time with the ones I love and less time on maintenance of stuff. I have been enjoying your posts on how to spend less time on maintenance while still meeting your goals.

  14. Living a Simpler Life means… getting organised so I’m not stressed over trying to find EVERY. little. THING…
    Learning how to say “NO”
    Prioritizing tasks better
    Letting GO
