Question of the week – your word for the year?

Well, the new year is just over a week old.

By now you’ve probably set some goals, made some resolutions or decided on your theme or word for the year.

This year I’ve chosen the word COURAGE as my word for 2011.

It means I’m stepping out even when I’m terrified, taking action even when I don’t feel like I know how and connecting even if I may be hurt.

Have you chosen a word for the year? Share in the comments.

  1. My word is Perspective, I’ve talked about it here: http://chloefrance.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-word-for-year.html

My word for the year is definitely JOY. I am seeking joy, and attempt joy with my children and to find joy in looking after them. JOY 24/7 in 2011…hehe, not really, I am not that deluded.

  3. Snap!

I learnt about ‘choosing a word for the year’ from you last year. I also chose courage for this year for reasons similar to yours. What a surprise when I logged in today and saw that you had chosen the same word!!!

I wish you every success with your challenges this year.

Hey! I love that you also chose courage. I’m looking for anything that has the word courage on it so let me know if you see anything around… 🙂

  4. I have not actively chosen a “word”for the upcoming year yet. But for the first time I just KNOW how this year is going to feel like. What it will be like. So I am sitting here right now thinking of the right word to sum it all up.
I think my word for the year might be something like … SUCCESS.
    Finished my education. Success!
    Starting a new job. Success!
Due to that feeling motivated, hopeful and strong. Big Success!
Due to that I take on projects to better my life. HUGE SUCCESS!
Oh, for my son it is a stepping stone this year, too. Start of school. I decided that for him that will mean success as well. How we do interpret that I will figure out when I know how it works out 😉

  5. Dear Marcia,

I really like your idea of choosing a word. I actally chose 2. Can you tell I have trouble making decisions!

    They are: Frugality & Creativity

I want to learn & do as much as I can to use money wisely.

And I’m getting my craft room set up the way I want it. I want to start sewing, crocheting & painting by setting aside either a day or morning to work.

My problem is I do the ‘have to’s’ first and then never have time for the ‘want to’s.’

I’ve learned a lot from you and am encouraged.
