Inspiring spaces #13 – decluttering clothes

Two quick reminders for you:

  1. Have you registered for Spring into Organising yet?
  2. My talk next week Monday at the church is on the 3 Ps of time management – perfectionism, procrastination and people-pleasing.

What are your questions about the 3 Ps? Share in the comments so I can address them.

This week’s inspiring space is from our favourite organising junkie, Laura.

Laura recently posted how she got ruthless and got rid of three HUGE bags of clothes.

 Pic from Laura’s post

I am inspired because:

  • she’s already organised so this took some doing and
  • I love how she did the first round and decluttered one bag … and then went at it again and decluttered another two bags.

Now that’s inspiration.

I’m quite good about decluttering my clothes but there are still one or two pants and skirt suits I’m hanging onto once I lose my last 3 kgs 🙂

How easy is it for you to declutter your clothes?

  1. Inspiring indeed! Except that I could never get rid of 108 pieces at once because I don’t have 108 pieces to start with. Or maybe if I count all my underwear and socks! LOL I’m not a clothes shopper AT ALL (I even hate it, to be honest) so I don’t usually have much clothes clutter, but with the weight gain (thanks infertility hormones!) I have much more to declutter than usual. I’ll try to get at it next weekend!

Dont hang onto clothes to shrink into!!! My tip here is when you lose the weight, you can treat yourself to some new clothes in your new size!!! You will deserve it!!
Some friends and I also have decluttering clothes parties, the more friends (and friends of friends) the better. Take all the clothes you no longer want/fit/like and swap them with friends!!! Everyone gets new clothes that way 🙂

  3. Ahh thanks for featuring my post! I’m thinking it’s time once again to do another go through especially with the seasons changing again on us. Getting cold here 🙂

  4. HA! This is so funny 🙂 Because 2 weeks ago I cleared out 2 black bags of my clothes aswell and yesterday I gave Jospehine 2 black bags of Kiaras clothes and toys 🙂

  5. I declutter clothes after each season.

Getting rid of clothes is an ongoing thing for me. I usually go through everything once or twice a year, but when I find myself putting on a shirt just to look in the mirror and take it back off again, it goes in the donation bag automatically.
