21 [31 days] Help Kim stay organised

I’ve just come back home after having been out with some girlfriends and realised I still needed to post for today 🙂

Kim says:

I really need to figure out an easy way to STAY organized…apparently all the different ways haven’t worked for me, or I would be organized, right???? I’ve tried, but can’t seem to stay upon it. Not sure what is really going wrong.

Today, I’m taking the easy way out.

If Kim asked you this question, what would you say are your best tips to help her stay organised 🙂

One room at a time, do it when you have a clear mind and lots of patience and off course time 😉

I love the “when you have a clear mind” 🙂

any tips for staying organised once she does the initial steps?

  2. The trick for me is to spend a few mninutes each day maintaining what I’ve organized. If I don’t take the time to put stuff back where it came from, it’s not going to stay organized.

Also, you need to have a system that works for you. I love organizing blogs because they offer a variety of ideas. Some work for me, while others don’t.

  3. In theory, I know what works: doing a little bit at a time, trying to find a system that suits me and my lifestyle. For example, should I quickly clean the bathroom before bed or in the morning? Never walking empty handed is also a good reminder that helps doing a little something all the time to keep the system running. But, as I said, this is theory, because I’m having a hard time actually doing it! LOL

Oh, and I almost forgot: the first step might be to ask herself what “organized” means for her. Is it clean? peaceful? beautiful? something else? “Organized” doesn’t have a universal meaning and I’m guessing the systems she tried haven’t worked so far because they don’t aim the same “organized” as she does.

ooh, great point Chloe, on first defining organised for yourself.

I have some ideas around accountability – why don’t you make a routine and aim for just a week at a time. And then treat yourself to something small. Til what you’re aiming for becomes a habit.

  4. Fantastic tale, believed we could mix several unconnected data, nevertheless really worth looking, whoa did 1 learn about Middle of the Eastern has got much more problerms too.
