Remember when I reviewed Laura Vanderkam’s book?
A client and I were discussing weekends last week and I thought it might benefit some of you if I shared my weekend success secret with you too.
It’s really simple – I make a to-do list every single weekend without fail.
This is my list from a few weekends ago.
The secret to a good to-do list on the weekend (for me) is that it must encompass things in all of these areas:
- out-of-the-house stuff
- house stuff (organising, etc)
- relaxing things
- computer things
This list does that – the back has “read my book for two hours” and “play in the leaves with the kids”
Even if I don’t get everything done (I very rarely do because I’m a list overachiever), I get a ton done every single weekend.
Usually as long as my weekends contains some sort of sporting activity, like a run I am a happy girll. I also need to schedule it though, which is why I enter races. You know what time you need to be be there and I am less likely to cancel if I have paid money. It is either that or a group training ride/run.
I used to like running on my own but have found it is so much harder to get out the house since having Little OL unless I have fixed plans. – also the earlier the better.
