Feb review and March goals

February was a good month. Here are some of the highlights:

  1. I had a crafternoon with a friend and organised all my iphone photos for Jan. Yes!
  2. We had a Valentine’s playdate for the kids
  3. I discovered Woolworths beetroot crisps…
  4. I had two dates with Dion – we watched “Joy” (nice… but not fabulous) and went to the theatre to see “Bye, Bye Baby”
  5. I read 7 books
  6. We set up savings accounts for the kids (more on that later this month)
  7. Reduced a financial obligation to a vendor by a third (that is the highlight). The fact that we even have to pay it is not a highlight but it is noticeable and I’m writing it down because I want to remember never to use them again.

Valentine’s playdate – red, pink and white foods only 🙂

I saw this verbiage on Instagram and I love it, so here’s the game plan for March:

  1. Do three things on our house to-do list (I had 33 at the beginning of the year and I have done 16 in the two months – wow, that’s impressive, looking at it in numbers like that)
  2. Read 7 books
  3. Take 6 walks (we’re behind on our 52 walks due to the never-ending summer)
  4. Organise the dampproofing
  5. Start my Project Life album for 2016 (low, low expectations). Bonus points for actually getting Jan and Feb photos printed for said album 🙂
  6. Try my version of a Bullet Journal for at least a week

Tell me, friends, about 3 things that happened in Feb – highlights, lowlights, whatever.

And what is your game plan for March?

This is part of my house planning. It’s a page from my Amazing Life workbook.

  1. Only a third?! Geez! I suppose it’s better than nothing at all. Remember, you’re still months ahead of me in PL! 😉 I have everything ready to print. I keep telling myself it’s all about the baby steps.

    Low-level accomplishments in FEB:
    -car washed
    -had our comforter cleaned

My only game plan for March is to have my birthday fly under the radar.

    • Only a third!

I chose Jan pics last weekend and I will choose Feb this weekend and print those two months to put in the album 🙂 It is absolutely about the baby steps!

Oh my gosh, Mandy, your birthday was so under the radar I forgot! HAPPY BIRTHDAY for yesterday 🙂 XXX

  2. Never ending summer – you aren’t kidding! It hasn’t been below 38 since I don’t know when! Last Saturday was the record high for 65 years here – 44.9 in Maputo, which means it was about 48 where I live. 115 in farenheit! Geez, I think my accomplishment is just being alive at the end of February – and not killing anyone! I am not nearly as nice a person in the heat! Enough – too much! – about that!
    Three things:
Bought a new fridge after two months without one, hoping against hope the repair people would do what they said the would – which they did, five days after I gave up and bought a new fridge!
Exercise walked about five times – that’s pretty impressive for me, given the heat!
Bought new towels, sheets, toothbrush cups for the dorm.
Bonus: had curtains made for the dorm and am having (ongoing, it’s taking awhile!) metal curtain rods installed in the dorm windows!

    • Laura, you’re a machine! You did GREAT with three BIG BIG things and surviving February’s heat! It’s been cooler here just for 3 days and I already feel a TON more productive. Amazing how the heat affects me!

      • Thank you for that kind comment Marcia. I am too hard on myself and never feel I do enough and your comment just made me think, “well done Laura!” So thank you for that! It’s finally cooler here too – we dropped from 40 to 30 in one night! And, we’ve had a little bit of much-needed rain and are praying for more! I too get so much more done, I’m loving it!

  3. February was rough on an emotional and financial level. I did get back into reading though.
I’m seeing someone to help me with financial planning. It’s time. That’s the BIG one.
And I am going to exercise and read two NF books.
I think I need to start “drawing” the goals like you are doing instead of listing them.

    • YES to the financial planning. It sounds like the most boring thing on the planet but that peace is completely the best thing ever! I always feel better once I face my money stuff.

Yes also to mindmapping the goals. Is that what you mean by drawing them? I mindmap and then make a neat list 🙂
