{planning} introducing my 2020 diary

2020 diary

Compared to 2018’s back and forth on the subject of my 2019 diary, I am so pleased that this year there was none of that nonsense.

You can read about my 2019 diary here. Interestingly, it’s the most popular post in November 2018 of the 6 months since May 2018! And here are pictures of my 2019 diary in action on Instagram.

I saw all the diaries in my local bookshop, noticed a few that I liked but one stood out – this one. I thought about it for a few days and then went back to get it.

2020 diary

Things I love in a diary are:

  • goals page at the front, and one for each month
  • monthly events calendar at a glance
  • weekly format
  • not too big to carry around

This diary had all of these features and the best is that I’ve already played around with the same format in 2018, so I know it works for me.

I also like how it zips up so I can carry a thin bullet journal with me and zip the whole lot up so that it stays contained in my handbag.

2020 diary

For those who are new to me, I love a weekly planner because my brain thinks in weeks and no matter how pretty the daily planners are, I’d never use them as well as I use a weekly planner.

I also like that this diary has a prayer list if you’re so inclined (you can use it for your weekly intentions, which is almost the same thing!), your priorities for the week and the notes for the week section which I use for some of my weekend to-dos.

Perhaps this will be the year I’ll be able to restrict all my weekend to-dos to that one little section? πŸ™‚

2020 diary

I prepared my diary by adding dates, school terms, public holidays, etc. and I started my to-dos yesterday too.

Do you use a diary? Which one are you using this year?

Here’s a useful post to help you make decisions if you haven’t decided yet.

The book is 4 today

Friends, my book is 4 years old today.

I’m shocked at how quickly time flies πŸ™‚

11-01 2413

It’s available as a physical, digital and PDF copy and for one week, we’ve made the PDF copy $4 πŸ™‚

Grab your copy if you don’t already have it.

Happy 4 years old, little book.

31 days of easy organising solutions

I feel very relieved that another one of the goals on my list is done. I think I have one business goal left – the makeover of this blog….

Nevertheless, my second book, 31 days of easy organising solutions is now available on the Kindle. Just as a reminder, you don’t actually need a Kindle to buy Kindle books – you can read them on your phone, iPad or computer.

It’s only $1,99 but somehow Amazon adds another $2 for us South Africans πŸ™

31 days book

And of course, Live Organised is also available on the Kindle and as a physical book.

I’ve reduced the price of Live Organised in the Amazon store too – get your copy today.

Β I’d like to end off by asking you to please go leave a review on Amazon or on Goodreads.

And if you want to read these and haven’t yet, please add it to your want to read shelf on Goodreads. Thanks πŸ™‚

Here’s the Goodreads link for Live Organised and here’s the one for 31 days.

Are you on Goodreads yet?

Goodreads is the most fabulous way to organise all your books read. I’ve had instances where I logged into my Goodreads account to see if I’ve read a book I intended to buy, only to realise I’ve already read it.

Books, weather and clothes

I had the most fun last night writing little notes in the PHYSICAL copies of my book for all the South Africans who ordered.

As I was arranging the packages, I decided to throw in a little something extra too (one of my favourite organising tools).

So if you ordered a copy, your parcel is zipping its way to you and should arrive early next week.

It’s not too late though – I still have some copies left. You can get yours hereΒ and yes, you’ll also get a little something extra from me πŸ™‚

For those in the rest of the world, you can buy your copy here: http://www.liveorganised.com and if you’ve read the book, please do click through to Amazon to leave a review. Thanks.

In other glorious news, spring has finally arrived in Jhb. We’ve been enjoying temperatures of 25 – 27 degrees celsius for the last week.

I love it! Not only is it warmer so I don’t have to drink copious mugs of tea but I actually want to be outside with my camera again.

If you’re wondering what the kids are doing here, they’re investigating a cat sitting outside a shop πŸ™‚

One item on my 37 things list last year was to have only clothes in my cupboard that fit me and that I loved.

I’d done that decluttering in stages (it really gets easier the more you do it) and the weekend before my birthday I decided to go through my cupboards one more time to get rid of the last little bit.

Imagine my amazement when I realised that I had, in fact, given away all the clothes that didn’t fit and that I didn’t like.

I love it!

But… my wardrobe’s been annoying me for the last week or so which means it’s time to go through it again.

No surprise since I bought a few things and haven’t let go of anything else.

So this week know that as I’m speaking to you about decluttering, I’m also inspiring myself to some wardrobe “white space” this weekend.

Just in time too, because I bought myself some very frivolous (to me) black flip flop sandals for work today πŸ™‚

Are you enjoying the weather?

Have you started your decluttering for the change of season?

One month in… a book giveaway for Live Organised

Today is the one-month anniversary of the book launch πŸ™‚

It feels much longer.

I finally plucked up the courage to actually look at book sales (honestly, I’ve been too scared to look :)) and thank goodness, I don’t have to be embarrassed, so a big THANK YOU to you if you’ve bought either the Kindle or a physical copy.

If you’ve read the book, please leave a review on Amazon. Thanks πŸ™‚

Have a look here and get your copy.

1.

I’m still investigating a good option to get a batch of physical books to the South Africans because shipping is crazy expensive.

At the moment I can get it down to R110 (inclusive of postage and packing). Give me til the end of this week and either 1) we’ll go with that option or 2) I’ll have found something a teensy bit cheaper.

2.

This week I want to give away a Kindle copy of the book.

There are a number of ways to enter:

  • leave a comment telling me what your burning question is with getting and staying organised – this one is compulsory πŸ™‚
  • share this post on Facebook
  • Tweet about this giveaway

The giveaway ends on Friday 12pm EST (6pm SA time) and I’ll announce the winner next Monday.

Otherwise, what are you looking forward to doing this week?

I get to think about and plan my next Kindle book, all while I’m packing party packs πŸ™‚

Book announcements and updates

I haven’t mentioned The Book for awhile because, quite honestly, it was sapping my energy.

So many things out of my control at this point ….. and to be 100% honest, this part is really not fun for me – the getting it from Word doc to print. You need the patience of a saint.

But I have some updates that I thought I’d share with you:

1. Last week I finally got my proof copy.

If I have to say so myself, it looks GORGEOUS. Very “me”, don’t you think?

Of course, being a proof, I picked up a number of things I wanted to correct. Which is now in progress.

2. I’ve also handed the book over to someone who is “Kindle-ising” it for me. She sent me the file with some things she wants me to change so that it reads easier on the Kindle, and told me how to put it on my Kindle to view it.

Despite being non-techno savvy, I actually managed to do it!

Do you know how excited I got to see MY book under MY name pop up on my Kindle as “new”.

( I was so excited I squealed like a girl)

Do you have a Kindle?

3. And then, last but not least, I’m busy getting a website up with special downloads for the purchasers of the book, whether print or Kindle versions.

I’m busy thinking of something fun to put together to entice all of you to buy the book for yourself or someone else when it’s available.

So get ready….

Have you ever thought of writing a book?

Did you know that writing a book is on most people’s life lists?!

PS do you have any fun ideas to promote the book?
