{goals} Two fun, intentional birthday traditions you may want to consider

I just celebrated my birthday – this is 46! It’s the strangest thing; I’m writing these increasing numbers and I don’t feel 46 at all. I feel strong, vital and full of energy yet I know intellectually that I’m now middle-aged 😮 and that other people see me like that.

I had a very lovely birthday indeed. You can see more in the Instagram post below.

  1. Do a birthday review

I wrote two posts here in 2016 and here in 2018, and you can download my free birthday review printable here.

2. Make a birthday list

I used to make a 36 things, 37 things, 38 things list…. and then they got too many to do once I hit 40. So now I do a lovely things to do list and I only make 20 items 😉

This year my list has things that are very doable within my immediate environment. I have not entirely completed it yet, but a couple of the categories include:

  • workshops (I want to develop a new one to replace Four Tendencies – let me know if there’s something you can think of, but I am definitely doing a goals/ planning workshop)
  • photos and photography
  • reading (obviously – did you know I started a bookstagram account during the last year? See more @marciareadsalot)
  • cooking/ baking
  • family and friends

What are some fun things I should add to my list?

{Living intentionally} Something fun for the weekend

Just a courtesy reminder for the locals among you – registration closes today for the next session of Let’s Do This. Don’t let this year just float away from you – take charge and live with intention.

I hope to see you in my lounge 🙂

********************************************************

You all know I love a good project so this year I decided to do two fun projects:

  1. I’m sending out 52 pieces of “real” mail, via a post office :)… with stamps!
  2. I’m giving away 40 things (hopefully a lot more, but definitely 40 things) as God leads me

52 pieces of mail

I saw something on a blog late last year where the lady is sending out one letter a week. If you know the blog, please tell me (I was blog surfing from somewhere – it wasn’t on my normal list of reads).

Here’s the thing I want you to take note of:

I know myself and that the project wouldn’t work for me, just as is. I’d have a busy week or two and then feel like the project was compromised.

So I changed it to send out 52 pieces of mail, WHENEVER.

I can send 12 in one month, and nothing for two months. All good.

I’ve already sent out 5 notes and it’s been SO fun. I use bright markers, washi tape, stickers, etc. to make it FUN for the recipient.

So beware, if I have your address, you might be getting some happy mail from me.

40 things

I want to hear from God and obey. I especially want to be a vessel for God to work through.

I’ve already done two of these 40 random gifts and it’s quite scary – what if I miss it and the person thinks I’m psycho when I say “God said this is for you”….

But so far so good… both recipients were happy (and didn’t think me psycho) so that makes me happy.

Now I want to hear from you.

Are you doing any fun projects this year? Walks, photo projects, reading goals, etc?
