In my bag

Since it’s Goals Night tonight, I thought I’d give you a quick little peek inside my bag while I get on with the business of goals – reviewing, taking stock and setting new ones for the month ahead.

Here we go – bags within bags. One for make-up, one for all things technology (power bank, chargers, and so on) and the little Baggu bag holds my specs/iphone cleaning cloth.

And now, let me get on with it so I can finish my 6th book for the month 🙂

What’s in your bag?

Oh, by the way, this is the last post I’m leaving open for comments.

I’ve decided to close comments on the blog again. Hopefully forever this time. There are many ways to interact – Instagram is the best way, and then there’s also the Facebook page, or good, old-fashioned email.

Organising with mini bags

I love the concept of everything in its place, and I find that this works really well in my handbag if I use a little bag for all the categories.

I used to use mesh bags before – still love them!

There are the obvious categories like the one for make-up but I have a few others:

  • technology – power bank and charger, phone charger and car charger
  • nail polish
  • pencil bag

This little bag was a gift from a friend and housed lip balms. I liked the lip balms but I LOVE the bag because it’s my new nail polish bag.

You see, I have a “thing” – I can’t stand chipped nail polish. If my nail polish chips, I need to fix it. I even keep nail polish remover and cotton wool in my work drawer.

So this is very useful for me.

So easy to keep things organised and more importantly, so easy to find when I need to fix something.

Do you use little bags within your main handbag?

The “perfect” handbag

I’m always on the lookout for the perfect handbag… for my needs.

While I love the idea of a small one, it’s just not practical unless I want to cart around 2 – 3 handbags. Because there are things I just must have with me on a daily basis.

I found a great handbag recently though in a favourite colour of mine (it’s a cross between brown and purple) – just big enough to store the iPad but not too big so I do have to keep everything else to a minimum.

When I’m not at work though, I don’t have my ipad, charger and adaptor with me and then I use a little bag organiser (would you like to see a pic? unfortunately it’s not being used with this bag)

Let’s have a peek:

I love an outside pocket for car keys

a space for everything and everything in its place 🙂

iPad, work notebook and some personal papers

I bought the pink, 3-division pencil bag at Pick & Pay and repurposed it to store my ipad and notebook

What’s your size preference for a handbag? What are your must-haves?

PS let’s not talk about colour preferences – I love them all!

Handbags – is small the new big?

A few weeks ago I got tired of lugging my gigantic handbag around.

I decided to switch to a smaller one and see what happened.

Here is the smaller bag:

and a closer pic

Well, I loved it.

As you can see, there’s a place for everything and everything is in its place.

I also love that there’s not a lot of space to throw miscellaneous items into which means I’m not lugging around things “just in case”.

When I’ve wanted to use some of my bigger totes, I’ve placed this entire handbag inside the fabric tote so it looks like a different bag but is, in fact, the same old thing.

You won’t believe how light it feels compared to all the things I used to carry around. Mind you, it was all organised but just too much.

So my question for you is this – how much do you carry around with you?

Do you prefer a big or small handbag?

Is yours organised or chaotic? 🙂

PS I’m looking for a guest blogger.
