Storage idea for washi tape

I was playing around with storage on the weekend and I decided to see if my washi tape would look good in a huge glass jar.

Have a look and tell me that’s not one of the prettiest things you’ve ever seen.

The only snag is that I have too many rolls – there were about 10 besides this stash and I really don’t like multiple storage options so I tossed them all out and packed them like this again.

However, this solution might work very well for most of you 🙂

How do you store your washi tape?

PS Consol sent me this and other lovely glass jars after I joked that I would love to review some items in this post 🙂

Organising hair accessories for girls

Remember this post I wrote just over a month ago?

You gave me some suggestions to organise Kendra’s growing stash.

Well, I was inspired and after looking through all the links, I decided three things:

1) I am still a lazy organiser who likes unfussy solutions
2) the 3-drawer system still looked good to me
3) I really needed labels

I haven’t written much about washi tape other than the crafting things I do with it BUT washi tape makes an excellent label.

I”m not sure why I didn’t figure it out sooner because I’ve always loved masking tape labels.

I’ve used washi tape to label my pens and pencils (yes, I do!), leftover food and now these too. Try it for some happiness in your fridge 🙂

Let’s get to the pictures!

with her links necklace – I so love their creativity

About that links necklace…

We first bought them a couple of packs of these links when they were “real” babies, 6 months or so. At that stage they used it to feel the different textures, etc.

Then we transitioned to using the links to help them learn their colours and sort by colour. They played with these dry and in the bath for months and months.

Over the last couple of months they use them for pretend play – necklaces, to lengthen a handbag strap when they go to work, etc.

I love it!

The best R30 I ever spent (2 packs of R15 each).

So there you have it. Organised hair accessories. Absolutely no money spent – my favourite kind of organising project.

It’s been organised this way for just over a month and still looks the same so I’d say it’s working for us.

What’s currently working for you in any area of organising your life? Do you need to live organised?

PS Remind me to tell you about the best baby gift we got 🙂

Marcia gets crafty 3 – washi tape binder clips

So I’m very slightly addicted to washi tape at the moment.

I get my packages delivered to work.

A package of lovely orange tape arrived for me and I couldn’t wait to start playing with it.

This is why all my boring black binder clips are all sporting orange at the moment.

So quick and easy and I did them all while chatting to a client on the phone 🙂

What’s this got to do with organising?

Well, we all know organising is MUCH more fun when things are pretty and when you’re happy to use them.

Do you like washi tape?

Have you decorated any of your office supplies yet?
